My next pattern was inspired by quiet winter light. That soft, hazy morning sun just peeping over the horizon.

The moment when everything still feels calm.

Warm florals, dusky pinks, and grounded neutrals felt like the right way to tell that story.

This one was made for my mom—who gives so much care to our family and has been waiting a long time for a quilt of her own. I pulled from some of my most-loved, long-hoarded fabrics, and honestly, I can’t imagine a better use for them.

A break from Christmas sewing means I finally get to share this quilt that came through my studio recently.

When I found out Kandi @kandijanke was sending a Granny Patch my way, I knew it would be fun to quilt… but opening the box and seeing this color palette in person was something else.

Warm golds, soft pinks, lilacs, bright reds, that unexpected pop of aqua—every bit of it was fabulous!

Quilts like this remind me why I love what I do: getting to see how different makers interpret the same pattern in completely unique ways.

For the quilting, Fizz give those tiny squares just enough movement to feel cohesive without taking over.

I was worried about these tiny pieces…even thought I might need to glue baste a few like I did with the candle block...

There’s something quietly comforting about opening this book each day, flipping to a new block, and knowing exactly what comes next—fabric, rotary cutter, a few good stitches.

The colors are cheerful, the blocks are tiny (not sure yet how I feel about that), and somehow it all feels familiar—like the kind of Christmas we remember from old family photos.

I don’t know if it’s the nostalgia or just the rhythm of sewing something small every day, but it’s turning out to be my favorite part of November so far.

This block reminds me of my childhood. Growing up, there was a sweet old couple who attended the same church as us.

I mean, even their names are the sweetest. ☺️

Anywho…each Sunday, my brother and I would search for Mr. Fred because he always had candy for us. Peppermints, werthers originals, strawberry candies, smarties, tootsie pops….you name it, he had them!

This little peppermint twist reminds me of those two and the joy we found as kids in simplicity. ✨

P.S. Can you tell I did the voice over in two different locations? One at home. One waiting in the school carpool line.

Not the most glamorous or IG worthy photo, but it’s where I’m sitting right now and I wanted to share. These are my tiny curves for the first #solsticesampler2025 block. It’s been a while since I’ve tried sewing a curved seam!!!
